Data Engineer Intern

TL;DR

Data Engineer Intern: Designing, building, and documenting efficient ETL/ELT data pipelines and models with an accent on optimizing SQL and Python for large-scale datasets. Focus on visualizing data and delivering BI dashboards/reports using BI tools for internal and external partners.

Location: Darmstadt, Germany. Hybrid work model after initial in-office period.

What you will do

• Design, build, and document efficient ETL/ELT data pipelines and models.
• Write and optimize SQL and Python for large-scale datasets.
• Visualize data and deliver BI dashboards/reports using BI tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau) for internal and external partners.
• Prepare and ingest data into Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Requirements

• Experience with Python and SQL.
• Ability to prioritize competing requests and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Initiative in communicating, asking questions, and learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English.
• Proactive, creative problem solver with strong time management.
• Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering).

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Experience with GCP and BI tools (Domo, Tableau).
• Experience working with REST APIs and Python data libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Experience building ETL/big data pipelines with workflow tools (e.g., Airflow).
