Location: Must be based in Bristol or able to commute for hybrid work

What you will do
- Define and mature the cloud architecture strategy, architectural standards, and best practices.
- Design secure, scalable, and resilient AWS platforms aligned with business objectives.
- Establish technical governance frameworks for cloud cost optimization and compliance (ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
- Collaborate with security and engineering teams to integrate hybrid cloud solutions seamlessly.
- Mentor colleagues on architectural discipline, cloud-native design, and DevOps methodologies.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and tools to support long-term technology roadmaps.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture and design for high-availability systems.
- Proven experience in a regulated industry, preferably UK financial services.
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of containerization (Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
- Ability to bridge communication between technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- AWS Solutions Architect professional certification.
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks and tooling.
- Background in cloud migration projects within complex hybrid environments.
