Location: Portsmouth, UK (Hybrid - 1 day per week on-site required)

What you will do

• Define architectural patterns and principles to guide the development of the Group Platform.
• Mentor and support lead developers in implementing commercially balanced, high-quality software solutions.
• Design scalable, event-driven microservices architecture using cloud-native technologies.
• Collaborate with the Principal Architect on long-term strategic planning for product features.
• Perform hands-on coding of proof-of-concepts and prototypes, and conduct code reviews.
• Engage with stakeholders to elicit technical requirements and translate them into optimal commercial solutions.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in a software architect role.
• Strong background in hands-on software engineering with expertise in clean code and design patterns.
• Extensive experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Deep understanding of DevOps practices and distributed microservice architectures.
• Proven ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with a background in Computer Science or similar technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI architecture.
• Knowledge of diverse database technologies including OLAP, OLTP, ETL, and Data Warehousing.
• Experience working within distributed and offshore team environments.
