About the Role
You will lead merchant onboarding and business verification operations, managing and developing the KYB team to meet SLA and quality targets. You will review and approve complex KYB cases, assess merchant risk and beneficial ownership structures, and ensure all processes comply with AML and regulatory requirements. You will build and maintain operational reporting and dashboards, drive process improvements for scalability and efficiency, and support audits and regulatory reviews. You will collaborate with Compliance, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring, Customer Success, and Sales to resolve onboarding challenges and provide operational insights.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in KYB / AML / Compliance operations
- Previous experience managing or leading KYB teams
- Experience within crypto, fintech, payments, or financial services
- Strong experience onboarding high-risk merchant categories
- Strong understanding of AML regulations and KYB frameworks
- Experience reviewing complex corporate structures and beneficial ownership
- Strong data-driven mindset, comfortable with reporting and performance analysis
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Highly organised and operationally structured
- Ability to perform in high-volume, fast-paced environments
- Strong decision-making and risk assessment skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the KYB team
- Mentor and develop KYB analysts
- Ensure the team meets SLA targets and quality benchmarks
- Review and approve complex KYB cases
- Ensure onboarding processes comply with AML frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Maintain rigorous quality control across KYB reviews
- Monitor team performance using data, reporting, and operational metrics
- Produce operational reports and performance dashboards
- Ensure processes are efficient, scalable, and well documented
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance checks
- Stay up to date with evolving regulatory frameworks
- Collaborate with Compliance, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring, Customer Success, and Sales
- Provide operational insight into merchant risk profiles and onboarding challenges
