Principal Software Engineer (AIX)

TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (AIX): Shaping long-term engineering strategy and driving technical innovation across the organization with an accent on architectural design, distributed systems, and modern infrastructure. Focus on mentoring lead engineers, defining technical standards, and applying AI/cloud-native solutions to solve complex engineering challenges.

Location: Hub-based hybrid role (Bristol, Glasgow, or London). Candidates must be able to attend the office at least once a week and participate in in-person events.

Salary: £116,500 – £154,588 per annum plus 15% on-target bonus and 9% Flex Pay.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software systems.
• Mastery of multiple programming languages including Node.js, Python, TypeScript, and React.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in cloud computing, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
• Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience in AI or Data Science domains.
• Background in influencing enterprise-wide technology strategy.
