What you will do
- Improve Supavisor's stability and performance to handle increasing demand while optimizing operational costs.
- Enhance CI/CD and deployment pipelines to support zero-downtime upgrades, including transitions to Kubernetes.
- Support compatibility for various ORMs and database clients like SQLAlchemy and Prisma.
- Develop new capabilities and client libraries while documenting best practices for users.
- Resolve escalated support issues and participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing and operating distributed systems at scale, preferably in database or infrastructure domains.
- Strong background in Elixir or Erlang, or a deep systems background with a willingness to specialize in Elixir.
- Familiarity with the ORM and database client ecosystem.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines with a focus on minimizing customer impact.
- Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity in an asynchronous, globally distributed environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with zero-downtime deployment techniques like hot code reload.
- History of maintaining or contributing to open-source projects.
- Experience debugging production issues under pressure in an on-call capacity.
