TL;DR

Junior Environment Concept Artist (Gamedev): Creating well-presented and defined artwork from sketch through to final polish for a variety of AAA videogame titles with an accent on innovative design and balancing form and function. Focus on providing multiple creative options, iterating as projects progress, and switching quickly and fluidly to new requirements and processes.

Location: Hybrid working from our Newcastle studio (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays in-studio).

What you will do

• Create artwork that is well presented and defined from sketch through to final polish.
• Solve creative problems through innovative design, balancing form and function.
• Provide multiple creative options, iterating as projects progress.
• Switch quickly and fluidly to new requirements and processes when required.
• Understand creative briefs, then considering elements such as context, timescales and creative constraints when solving tasks.
• Be receptive to taking feedback and working together with team-mates and clients.

Requirements

• Creation of artwork that is well presented and defined from sketch through to final polish.
• Fluency in Photoshop and Blender and an understanding of complimentary software and tools including Unreal Engine.
• A strong grasp of colour, light, composition, mood, perspective and depth.
• The ability to provide multiple creative options, iterating as projects progress.
• Understanding creative briefs, then considering elements such as context, timescales and creative constraints when solving tasks.
• Receptive to taking feedback and working together with team-mates and clients.
