Motion Editor (GameDev): Retargeting and editing realistic motion-capture-based performances with an accent on body motion, transitions, and character interaction. Focus on delivering high-quality, believable character animation for humans and creatures while maintaining technical precision across complex hierarchies.

Location: Must be based in London or able to commute to the Lacon House studio (Hybrid: 2 days on-site per week)

What you will do

• Retarget motion data between different character hierarchies independently.
• Enhance performance nuances and interactions between characters, props, and environments.
• Animate fingers, toes, and tails to improve posture and weight.
• Blend distinct animation clips to create fluid and believable transitions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and mentor junior team members (for senior roles).
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment to meet high-quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in high-end film VFX or the video game industry.
• Strong understanding of animation principles and retargeting techniques.
• Proficiency in MotionBuilder, Blender, Nuance, or Maya.
• Ability to work on-site 2 days per week in London.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Portfolio or demo reel demonstrating relevant work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux and Vicon Shogun Post.
