What you will do

• Drive the healthy growth and high performance of the engineering organization through active hiring and mentorship.
• Refine the engineering roadmap and set technology strategy for the team to ensure scalable solution delivery.
• Collaborate closely with product managers to align product plans with team capacity and technical constraints.
• Provide coaching and continuous feedback to support the personal and professional progression of team members.
• Take ownership of the quality of execution, timeliness of delivery, and performance management within the team.

Requirements

• Must be based in Portugal
• Proven experience managing, mentoring, and growing geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Strong background in building and supporting complex distributed systems over long periods.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
• Prioritize end-user experience and business value over specific technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges and deliver scalable solutions.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity.
• Experience with applied cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs, or optimistic rollups.
• Strong interest in blockchain protocol research and cryptoasset innovations.
• Prior background in the finance industry.
