TL;DR
Lead Software Engineer (Fullstack/TypeScript): Designing and building complex product features, APIs, and diagnostic systems with an accent on technical leadership and hands-on coding. Focus on scaling software architecture, mentoring the team, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver robust, fault-tolerant solutions.
Location: Must be based in or near Nottingham, UK. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Nottingham (Long Eaton) office.

What you will do
- Oversee the end-to-end design and implementation of product features, APIs, and diagnostic systems.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
- Develop code alongside the team while driving technical standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to align solutions with business goals.
- Ensure scalability, operability, and high performance of systems.
- Own the full development lifecycle, including design reviews, testing, and delivery.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software development within fast-paced tech organizations.
- 50% or more hands-on leadership experience in a similar role.
- Proven expertise in software design, development, and cloud-based deployments.
- Strong knowledge of modern web stacks, including TypeScript, NodeJS, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in engineering or integrating AI/ML systems.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
- Background in building fault-tolerant and highly scalable infrastructure.
- Knowledge of security standards and industry compliance.
