What you will do

• Design and develop end-to-end solutions within a scalable microservices environment.
• Own the full development cycle from initial design to production deployment and monitoring.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire an agile team of developers to drive performance and growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, UX Designers, and DevOps teams.
• Manage system evolution and technical debt while maintaining architectural integrity.
• Define and oversee Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for the team's domain.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK is mandatory.
• Must be able to work hybrid (2+ days/week) from the Dundee office.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js, Python, Java, Golang, or Rust.
• Solid experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), SQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent education.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL databases and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of event stream processing and serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience shipping reusable frontend components or SDKs.
