What you will do
- Design and develop end-to-end solutions within a scalable microservices environment.
- Own the full development cycle from initial design to production deployment and monitoring.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire an agile team of developers to drive performance and growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, UX Designers, and DevOps teams.
- Manage system evolution and technical debt while maintaining architectural integrity.
- Define and oversee Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for the team's domain.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK is mandatory.
- Must be able to work hybrid (2+ days/week) from the Dundee office.
- 5+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js, Python, Java, Golang, or Rust.
- Solid experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), SQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent education.
Nice to have
- Experience with NoSQL databases and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of event stream processing and serverless architectures.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience shipping reusable frontend components or SDKs.
