Middle IoT Software Engineer (Embedded)

TL;DR

Middle IoT Software Engineer (Embedded): Developing and optimizing embedded and edge software for Linux- and RTOS-based devices with an accent on device-to-cloud communication and hardware integration. Focus on building reliable, maintainable software for ARM/x86 platforms, performing code reviews, and collaborating in a cross-functional Agile team.

Location: Must be based in Ukraine (Flexible workplace: remote or in any hirify.global office in Ukraine).

What you will do

• Develop and maintain embedded and edge software for Linux and RTOS environments.
• Enable secure and efficient communication between edge devices and cloud platforms.
• Work with diverse hardware architectures including ARM and x86.
• Perform peer design and code reviews to ensure high code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive organic product evolution.
• Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies and technical planning.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of commercial experience in C++ development.
• Fluency in English for communication in a multicultural environment.
• Strong familiarity with Linux-based systems and operating system concepts.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, MQTT, DDS) and computer vision.
• Proficiency with build systems, CI/CD, and Git.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with Python or C#.
