Senior R&D Hardware Architect (AI): Designing and optimizing hardware architecture for next-generation AI acceleration platforms with an accent on memory management, dataflow, and networking infrastructure. Location: Must be based in Europe (including the UK) or willing to relocate to Italy (Florence, Milan) or the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Eindhoven).

What you will do

• Design and implement hardware architecture for next-generation AI accelerators with a focus on memory and network subsystems.
• Build architectural models and define optimal configurations to maximize performance across diverse AI workloads.
• Develop detailed architectural specifications and perform rigorous verification and performance evaluation testing.
• Collaborate with software engineers, ML scientists, and digital designers to align technical requirements.
• Contribute to intellectual property through research, publications, and patent filings.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Must be based in Europe or eligible for relocation to Italy/Netherlands.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Proven experience in both hardware and software development.
• Working knowledge of neural networks (transformers or CNNs) and computer architecture concepts.
• Strong communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with networking protocols such as RoCE or Infiniband.
• Knowledge of RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access).
• Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) system architecture.
