Director, Quantitative Data Products (Alternative Data)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $121,000–$170,000 base pay per year, plus annual bonus or commission and equity

hirify.global's Alternative Data group creates data products from non-traditional sources to support investment funds and capital markets decision-making.

What you will do

• Define strategy and drive execution for a portfolio of quantitative alternative data products.
• Conduct market research and engage with clients to identify and validate product opportunities.
• Own the full product lifecycle from ideation and validation through launch, scaling, and optimization.
• Develop and prioritize product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and revenue growth.
• Collaborate with data science, data engineering, partnerships, client success, sales, and marketing teams.
• Lead go-to-market strategy, including pricing, positioning, and sales enablement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product management, product development, or data analysis within the investment industry.
• Deep understanding of capital markets, data product fundamentals, and data feeds or products.
• Experience conceptualizing and driving new initiatives from 0 to 1 in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a revenue-focused ownership mindset.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the alternative data landscape and competitive positioning of its companies and products.
• Experience evaluating and applying alternative data across the investment lifecycle, including programming, statistics, and backtesting.
• 0-to-1 startup or venture-building experience.
