TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Fintech): Designing and evolving backend services for core banking products with an accent on scalability, resilience, and security. Focus on influencing technical direction, driving complex initiatives, and building high-impact systems that process large volumes of financial transactions.

Location: Hybrid, requires attendance at the London office 2-3 days a week.

What you will do

  • Own complex technical initiatives from ideation through to production.
  • Design and evolve scalable, secure backend systems capable of real-world processing demands.
  • Make architectural decisions balancing immediate needs with long-term system sustainability.
  • Influence prioritization, strategy, and trade-offs across multiple product-engineering teams.
  • Mentor engineers and strengthen team technical capability and operational accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering quality, reliability, and development practices.

Requirements

  • Must be able to commute to the London office 2-3 days per week.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact, complex systems in production environments.
  • Strong systems thinking and architectural judgment.
  • Proficiency in C# and willingness to cross-train into JVM/Kotlin environments.
  • Strong discipline in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience navigating ambiguity to turn complex problems into actionable plans.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the fintech or banking industry.
  • Exposure to Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS Aurora Postgres.
