Senior Software Engineer I (Fullstack)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer I (Fullstack): Designing and building scalable full-stack services to improve member retention with an accent on Ruby on Rails, React, and GraphQL. Focus on delivering high-impact features and maintaining system uptime through strong testing and observability practices.

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation to be in the office 2–3 days per week. Candidates must be based in the San Francisco metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on-sites.

Salary: $183,000 - $205,500

• Design and build scalable full-stack services using Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve our member growth.
• Expand and maintain existing web and mobile applications.
• Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Provide technical leadership in architectural discussions, code reviews, and system planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on full-stack development.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Typescript, React.
• Proven ability to independently lead delivery of complex technical projects.
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable system architecture.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with observability and experimentation tools such as Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Mixpanel, Iterable.
• Experience designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs.
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to other engineers.
