What you will do

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of core database features including search, scalability, and performance.
• Develop high-performance and fault-tolerant systems using C++.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to define vision and meet technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and advocate for best practices in distributed and secure systems development.
• Create proof-of-concept projects to push the boundaries of database performance.
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure collaborative and effective project delivery.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the United States
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in database internals or core data processing systems.
• 5+ years of experience with distributed and multi-threaded systems.
• Advanced C++ programming proficiency.
• Deep understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
• Proven capability to debug complex server-side issues using GDB.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and containerized environments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MarkLogic Server, SQL/NoSQL hybrid databases, or Google V8 engine.
• Knowledge of XQuery and JavaScript.
• Understanding of network protocols and document formats like XML or JSON.
