Founding Engineer (AI): Owning end-to-end backend infrastructure, DevOps, and production systems for an AI-native digital forensics platform with an accent on scalability, security, and compliance. Focus on building automated deployment pipelines, managing multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), and ensuring system reliability for critical law enforcement investigative workflows.

Location: Strong preference for Austin, TX (hybrid). Open to US-based remote for the right candidate.

Salary: $240,000 per year plus profit sharing.

What you will do

• Own the build and deployment pipeline to scale automated updates for thousands of customers.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure including provisioning and usage tracking.
• Ensure adherence to CJIS and SOC2 compliance frameworks.
• Build CI/CD pipelines capable of handling large-scale forensic data integration tests.
• Maintain secure and monitored production environments while managing dependencies.
• Collaborate across the stack, shifting between infrastructure, application code, and customer-facing needs.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States (Austin preferred).
• Deep experience managing cloud accounts, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Proven capability to own security and compliance end-to-end.
• AI-native mindset: regular experience with AI agents, LLMs, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate development.
• Ability to move across the full stack and self-manage without traditional project management structure.
• Experience with Rust, TypeScript, Python, or related technologies.

Nice to have

• Background in digital forensics or working with sensitive data.
• Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
