Principal Engineer, Storage Services (AI)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across block, file, parallel, and object storage services.
• Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance storage solutions aligned with the broader platform architecture.
• Influence technical strategy, roadmaps, priorities, and long-term architectural decisions.
• Partner with platform, infrastructure, and product teams to integrate storage services across the platform.
• Lead technical investigations, proofs of concept, design reviews, and major incident root-cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards, reliability, observability, performance, and operational maturity.

Requirements

• Senior technical experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Architect, or in a similar role within storage, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or platform engineering.
• Deep expertise in block, file, parallel, and object storage architectures.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale, production-grade storage or infrastructure services.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including performance, availability, consistency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Experience setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and influencing teams without formal people-management authority.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
