Engineering Manager, Launch & Sandboxes (AI)

Location: Remote within the US, or office-based in Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Sunnyvale, CA; or Bellevue, WA. The position requires access to export-controlled information, with US person or qualifying export-authorization eligibility required.

Salary: $165,000–$242,000 base pay and target total cash.

What you will do

• Lead the Launch & Sandboxes engineering team within the IaaS organization.
• Own cloud execution environments with isolated, GPU-enabled containers.
• Develop services and integrations for job submission, compute orchestration, and HPC schedulers.
• Connect developer workflows with Kubernetes clusters, HPC nodes, and cloud virtual machines.
• Shape roadmaps with product management, unblock cross-team dependencies, and manage technical debt.
• Own team outcomes from roadmap commitments through production reliability and customer impact.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience shipping infrastructure or platform products.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience before management, with backend systems depth.
• Technical fluency in Go, Python, and Kubernetes.
• Experience managing production distributed-systems teams and balancing delivery, reliability, technical debt, and on-call responsibilities.
• Experience shaping roadmaps with product managers and developing engineers across levels.
• US location or qualifying export-control eligibility is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with ML infrastructure, ML platforms, or developer tools for data scientists.
• Familiarity with compute orchestration, job scheduling, container isolation, HPC, or scientific computing.
• Experience with billing, metering, usage-based pricing, or product-area transitions.
• Founding or early-stage experience taking products from idea to users.
