TL;DR
Senior Backend Engineer (Marketplace): Transforming the product by building elegant and performant APIs and handlers, and managing well-functioning datastores and services with an accent on AB testing and test-measure-learn approaches. Focus on innovating and problem solving, developing prototypes and iterating to find the optimal result.
Location: Must be based in Spain to be considered for this fully remote role.

What you will do
- Work with development teams and product managers to conceptualise and implement software solutions.
- Build elegant and performant APIs and handlers.
- Develop and manage well-functioning datastores and services.
- Proactively propose and implement improvements to the codebase.
- Mentor other engineers to support their growth.
- Design and code solutions for systems with a high volume of transactions a second.
Requirements
- Expertise and extensive experience using Python in a production environment (Minimum 5+ years).
- Defining, implementing and testing APIs, Event Handlers, and Business logic.
- Integrations with 3rd party systems.
- Production SQL and NoSQL database experience.
- Using Docker in production, ideally with Kubernetes or Fargate/ECS/EKS.
- Experience building, maintaining, testing and documenting features to be used by other developers both internally and externally.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.
- Experience with cloud monitoring systems, such as Datadog.
- Experience with ElasticSearch, MongoDB or similar.
- Interest in AI as a tool for increasing developer efficiency.
