Showrunner (YouTube Gaming)

Location: Austin, Texas; must be based in Austin or willing to relocate

Salary: $80,000–$87,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the creative vision and narrative arc of gameplay videos, creating strong hooks and engaging storylines.
• Direct in-game recordings and make real-time creative decisions that improve storytelling and viewer engagement.
• Shape content using YouTube algorithms, audience behavior, platform trends, thumbnail concepts, and pacing.
• Review edits, strengthen story beats, and provide direction to production and post-production teams.
• Analyze performance data and apply insights to improve the creative approach.
• Oversee the production pipeline from concept through publication, including pre-production planning and coordination with creative and technical teams.

Requirements

• Proven ability to craft compelling stories for YouTube, including narrative structure, pacing, hooks, and retention.
• Experience directing video content in-game, on set, or in post-production.
• Deep knowledge of YouTube, audience psychology, and content performance.
• At least 2 years of experience in digital video production with a track record of resonant content.
• Passion for Minecraft, Roblox, and YouTube gaming content.
• Based in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate; availability to support weekend review rotations as needed.
