What you will do

• Design and evolve the semantic modeling layer, serving as the single source of truth for all business logic.
• Define standards for authoring, versioning, testing, and governing semantic models.
• Architect consumption interfaces for data sharing, high-performance BI reporting, and agentic AI analytics.
• Optimize query performance, materialization strategies, and pre-aggregation patterns for massive scale.
• Provide technical leadership across the platform, driving cross-team design sessions and mentoring engineers.
• Drive the integration of AI-assisted development workflows to multiply team velocity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software or data engineering for high-traffic, fault-tolerant systems.
• Deep expertise in semantic modeling, data lakehouse architecture, and building platform-level abstractions.
• Strong experience with the dbt ecosystem and semantic layer technologies like dbt MetricFlow.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with a focus on performance tuning at scale.
• Experience with modern columnar/OLAP engines such as Snowflake or ClickHouse.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and reside in a location where the company can support employment.

Nice to have

• Experience building data interfaces for both human analysts and AI agents.
• Familiarity with data governance, metric versioning, and quality frameworks like Monte Carlo or Great Expectations.
• Experience designing schemas that enable effective RAG or LLM-based data discovery.
