Salary: $128,250 - $266,875/yr.

What you will do

• Design and optimize Cloud Spanner schemas to support 2.5B+ user profile scale.
• Implement Valkey/Redis-compatible caching strategies to achieve sub-10ms read latency.
• Build multi-region replication and automated failover mechanisms for high availability.
• Collaborate with API, Ingestion, and SRE teams to improve data access and throughput.
• Create monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery procedures for storage health.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, including hot-spotting and lock contention.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with distributed databases or large-scale storage.
• 2+ years with GCP infrastructure or AWS equivalents.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Go, or Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems including consistency models and consensus algorithms.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-region Spanner deployments at petabyte scale.
• Knowledge of database migration tools and zero-downtime schema evolution.
• Contributions to distributed systems open-source projects.
• Prior experience in adtech storage infrastructure.
