What you will do

• Lead and mentor a distributed team of engineers building high-throughput caching and storage systems.
• Define multi-year technical roadmaps and architectural best practices for platform engineering.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leads to prioritize projects and drive business objectives.
• Manage incident response, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Review system designs and code, ensuring architectural consistency across the department.
• Serve as a technical representative to understand customer needs and address complex technical blind spots.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States
• Strong experience in people management (5+ years)
• Extensive background in software engineering (5–11+ years depending on degree) using languages such as C, C++, Go, Java, or Python.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting distributed systems, including network, storage, caching, and load-balancing layers.
• Hands-on experience in areas like configuration management, databases, or containerized environments.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of caching and key-value store technologies (Redis, Memcached).
• Experience with cloud migrations to platforms like Azure or AWS.
