What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of complex features or subsystems.
• Apply technical expertise to solve challenging problems and guide architecture and design decisions.
• Serve as a primary technical owner for services or components, ensuring reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Partner with product management, design/UX, and QA to shape requirements and validate solutions.
• Drive improvements in tooling, processes, and system design to increase engineering effectiveness and product quality.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading the design and delivery of complex features or projects.
• Strong expertise in relevant technology stacks, including experience with distributed systems, APIs, data storage, and cloud services.
• Demonstrated ability to set and uphold coding, testing, and operational standards.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and providing actionable feedback.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to or influencing system-level architecture across multiple services or applications.
• Track record of leading cross-team initiatives or proof-of-concept efforts.
• Experience with observability practices, SLOs, and designing systems for reliability and operability.
• Background in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments, including secure coding and data protection practices.
• Active participation in technical communities.
