Staff Fullstack Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based at hirify.global HQ in San Francisco, California, or the satellite office in Seattle, Washington. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary: $240,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own cross-team technical strategy for major platform areas, including architecture, reliability, scalability, and engineering standards.
• Lead complex, multi-quarter infrastructure and architectural initiatives from design through delivery across multiple teams.
• Architect a reusable, configurable platform for scheduling and application requirements across diverse agency workflows.
• Design data models for complex human relationships and lead technical designs for transferring applications between agencies with variable permissions and workflows.
• Partner with Product, Policy, and Technical Account Management to shape roadmap decisions and develop new product areas such as child intake and community crisis response.
• Identify systemic risks involving security, HIPAA compliance, performance, and incident response while raising engineering quality through design critique, code review, mentoring, and AI-enabled tooling.

Requirements

• Track record leading large-scale infrastructure and architectural projects across multiple teams or systems.
• Ability to set technical direction, navigate ambiguity, make principled trade-offs, and gain alignment.
• Deep experience building and maintaining configurable, enterprise-grade systems.
• Strong product orientation and ability to communicate complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring and elevating senior engineers and contributing to a strong team culture.
• Fluency using AI tools in personal workflows and enthusiasm for building AI-powered product features.
