What you will do

• Design and build core backend systems for fantasy contests, user profiles, leaderboards, and real-time game logic.
• Architect scalable, distributed systems capable of handling millions of concurrent users with low latency.
• Lead backend initiatives from initial concept through to resilient production deployment.
• Optimize system performance by proactively addressing bottlenecks via profiling and capacity planning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver high-impact features.
• Mentor engineering team members and define technical standards and backend best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience, including staff-level or technical leadership roles.
• Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems serving millions of users.
• Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Deep expertise in databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching strategies, and message queues like Kafka.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Must be based in the United States.
