TL;DR

Trainee (Compliance): Supporting the Data Protection Office in ensuring EU-wide regulatory compliance with an accent on risk assessment methodologies and reporting mechanisms. Focus on developing prioritization frameworks, creating engaging awareness content, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance data protection visibility.

Location: Must be based in the Netherlands (Amsterdam). Hybrid setup with up to 40% teleworking allowed.

Monthly Stipend: €2,049.77

What you will do

• Develop and implement a data protection prioritization framework based on risk assessments.
• Enhance compliance reporting templates and visualize key metrics for management.
• Design engaging communication materials including infographics and newsletters to promote data protection awareness.
• Monitor and assess current compliance activities such as breach handling and training coverage.
• Organize interactive learning sessions and workshops for agency staff.
• Support the team in aligning reports with internal audit and EU regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Must be a citizen of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
• University degree in Law (with specialization in Data Protection, Privacy, or EU Law) obtained between May 2025 and May 2026 OR be an active university/PhD student.
• English: C1+ required.
• Good knowledge of another official EU language (at least B2).
• Familiarity with GDPR and Regulation (EU) 2018/1725.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel for dashboarding.
