IT Applications Engineer

TL;DR

IT Applications Engineer: Managing, supporting, and enhancing essential enterprise tools used by engineering and CI/CD teams with an accent on the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), JFrog Artifactory, and HashiCorp Vault. Focus on enhancing, securing and streamlining CI/CD pipelines and workflows.

Location: Must be based within commutable distance of Edinburgh, UK and follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule.

What you will do

• Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise applications such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Artifactory, and Vault.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts, collaborating across global teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Partner with global software development teams to enhance, secure, and streamline CI/CD pipelines and workflows.

Requirements

• IT professional with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience running and maintaining databases and applications in AWS.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar).
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Adaptable and eager to take on diverse technical challenges.

Nice to have

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy).
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
