Location: Kanagawa, Japan (near Yokohama) (Hybrid – 3 days/week on-site)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain wired and wireless networks, VPNs, VLANs, and firewall policies in Japan.
• Serve as local owner of networking and infrastructure, resolving outages and optimizing performance.
• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams to ensure seamless hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments.
• Support automation of network configurations and site setup using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Implement and maintain secure access controls, certificate management, and encryption practices.
• Contribute to the global expansion of hirify.global’s infrastructure footprint.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, networking, or DevOps roles.
• Strong command of networking protocols and enterprise networking platforms.
• Hands-on Linux systems administration experience.
• Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python for automation and tooling.
• Experience operating in hybrid on-prem + cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Comfortable working across time zones and cultures, especially UK-JP collaboration.

Nice to have

• Exposure to fleet-based operations, data offloading infrastructure, or AI development environments.
• Certifications like Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or equivalent are a plus.
