TL;DR

Business Development Manager (Defense): Developing and executing strategies to grow revenue within US space and intelligence agencies with an accent on relationship building with key decision-makers and aligning technical roadmaps. Focus on managing competitive bids, navigating DoW acquisition processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction within the classified space sector.

Location: Must be based in the US (Fully Remote or Hybrid in Huntsville, AL).

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 Annually.

What you will do

  • Identify and develop strategies for growth with the US Department of Defense, USSF, and intelligence agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal capture and engineering teams to prepare competitive bids meeting strict security standards.
  • Maintain deep insight into emerging space program requirements and customer technical roadmaps.
  • Manage primary customer interfaces and resolve concerns effectively to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Build and nurture long-term trust-based relationships with program managers and key decision-makers.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and bookings forecasts in CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or 8+ years of relevant military experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of Business Development experience in the USSF, NRO, or related space agencies.
  • Must be able to obtain or hold a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Must be a US person capable of accessing export-controlled information (ITAR).
  • Deep understanding of DoW acquisition processes and contract vehicles.
  • Willingness to travel locally or regionally up to 50% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with spacecraft, mission architectures, and space situational awareness.
  • Experience with cross-agency joint missions and classified projects.
