What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate DWDM-based transport networks across long-haul and metro environments.
• Perform wavelength provisioning, optical power tuning, and amplification design to ensure optimal link performance.
• Troubleshoot cross-layer issues spanning optical transport and IP/MPLS networks.
• Execute fiber characterization and fault isolation using OTDR, OSA, and BERT tools.
• Develop and maintain Python-based automation for optical health checks, telemetry ingestion, and inventory synchronization.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to improve fleet-wide reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in DWDM systems, including wavelength routing, optical amplification, and dispersion management in long-haul networks.
• Solid understanding of IP/MPLS fundamentals, including routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, or IS-IS, and MPLS signaling.
• Hands-on experience with production optical platforms such as Ciena, Infinera, or ADVA.
• Proficiency in Python for automation of operational workflows and network validation tasks.
• Experience using optical diagnostic tools (OTDR, OSA, BERT) for fiber analysis and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel to data center and network sites across the US/EU for deployments and audits.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux-based network management systems and streaming telemetry for optical monitoring.
• Background in network modernization projects, including migrations from 100G to 400G/800G architectures.
• Familiarity with Segment Routing (SR-MPLS or SRv6) and its interaction with optical transport performance.
