What you will do
- Own payroll compliance in your jurisdiction(s), ensuring local requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented.
- Translate statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, and edge cases into structured requirements for Product and Engineering.
- Lead multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation, establishing scalable audit frameworks.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for compliance issues, supporting Incident Managers to resolve incidents effectively.
- Create clear, scalable, and documented processes for payroll compliance operations, developing controls and monitoring mechanisms.
- Build training materials, guidance, and rules documentation to upskill internal teams, delivering enablement and coaching.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for your country/region, with a strong understanding of legislation and payroll calculations.
- Proven record leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
- Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
- Strong communicator capable of influencing stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.
- Comfortable operating in an async, fast-changing, fully hirify.global environment.
