Product Owner (Mining)

TL;DR

Product Owner (Mining): Prioritizing and owning software features developed by a software engineering team, delivering high-value software for enterprise customers with an accent on program backlog refinement and ensuring successful delivery of committed customer value per release. Focus on collaborating with architects and technical leads to assist with decision-making and sequencing of critical technological infrastructure.

Location: This position requires working onsite five days a week in Brisbane CBD, Australia. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.

What you will do

• Program backlog refinement for the Product Owner’s software team for each Program Increment to ensure successful delivery of committed customer value per release.
• Work with the team to agree on accepted feature completion, including validation of the feature completeness and adherence to the set acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with architects and technical leads to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructure required for feature delivery enablement.
• Represent the team at various stakeholder and planning meetings to ensure upcoming work is planned, scheduled and detailed.
• Own the priority of work for the team and aligning that priority to that of Solution Management to ensure the right features are developed and delivered according to the whole of solution plan.
• Own the product and functional area(s) that the team primarily develops, and becoming the subject matter expert in how the product functions and what the future opportunities may be.

Requirements

• 4+ years’ experience in working with software teams as a Product Owner and/or Business Analyst, or equivalent field.
• 4+ years’ experience in mining.
• Experience leading agile teams and working with agile methodologies such as SAFe, scrum, etc.
• Experience with software-based Product Development, including owning, identifying and delivering value for customers.
• Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of modern technologies and methods of working.
