TL;DR

Staff Data Scientist (AI): Driving data-informed decision-making to understand the treatment journey of plaintiffs and the impact on final settlements. Focus on leveraging complex datasets into actionable insights that deliver business value and inform product direction.

Location: Hybrid role based in either the San Francisco or Toronto offices, with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week.

Salary: CA$205,000 – CA$235,750 / $238,618 – $274,411 (Offers Equity)

What you will do

• Translate complex datasets into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to define KPIs.
• Work with the evaluation data team to plan annotation work and define evaluation schemas.
• Communicate analysis results clearly and tailor messaging based on the audience.
• Help build and evolve the analytical foundation, including event instrumentation and metric frameworks.
• Mentor other analysts and raise the bar for data storytelling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• 7+ years of experience using SQL or similar big data querying languages.
• 7+ years of experience with a programming language such as Python or R.
• 7+ years of experience with applied statistical techniques.
• Experience using machine learning and statistical analysis for building data-driven product solutions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in applied mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, or a related field.
• Experience in a product-focused role in the medical domain.
