TL;DR
Manager, Platform Engineering: Leading and expanding platform teams responsible for core data services, including FHIR data store, Data marts, Master Patient Index, and Authentication and Authorization with an accent on building new features and continually refining systems to support increasing data volume. Focus on data services operating on large-scale data using a variety of AWS services, with Go as the primary language and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code management.
Location: United States. Remote candidates must be in EST/CST but willing to travel for in-person collaboration occasionally. Hybrid work option available in the Boston office.
Salary: $190,000 - $235,000 a year

What you will do
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of software developers.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, AI/ML experts, healthcare providers, and support teams to identify and develop platform use cases and associated features.
- Take ownership of ensuring business-critical services remain safely operational for customers.
- Partner with product management in Agile sprint management rituals.
- Work hands-on with Zus codebases as time allows.
Requirements
- Have had some supervisory experience leading software engineers and are excited for more.
- Are experienced in building and running large-scale systems in the cloud.
- Are experienced in building services and APIs used by third-party developers.
- Have experience with operationally stable and cost-efficient data stores.
- Enjoy owning complete microservices from the infrastructure up.
- Have deep experience building backend software in any language (we use mostly Go).
Nice to have
- Knowledgeable about application security.
- Experienced in working with healthcare data and APIs.
- Familiar with the FHIR and/or TEFCA standards.
