What you will do

• Manage and improve infrastructure architecture, including hybrid-cloud setups and on-premise hardware.
• Ensure production reliability for critical systems like databases, compute clusters, and build farms.
• Own the end-to-end deployment pipeline, CI/CD processes, and security access controls.
• Write infrastructure as code and develop internal tooling to streamline engineering productivity.
• Implement and maintain observability, monitoring, and automated failover systems to ensure 24/7 resilience.
• Optimize cloud and infrastructure costs while maintaining high system performance.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK
• Solid experience running container orchestration in production and managing IP networking.
• Proven track record of building and managing production cloud environments at scale.
• Proficiency in programming (TypeScript, Python, Go, or functional languages) with a focus on solving problems through code rather than just scripting.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to learn and work with Clojure as a primary tool for operational automation.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with functional programming languages.
• Familiarity with FoundationDB, Bazel, or Pulumi.
• Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment.
