What you will do

• Design and maintain highly available, scalable, and reliable cloud platforms using modern infrastructure practices.
• Build and evolve efficient CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and secure software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architectural standards, team processes, and technical strategy.
• Utilize metrics and observability tools to monitor and improve system performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
• Mentor and coach fellow engineers while contributing to the wider engineering culture and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Manage the full stack lifecycle to meet business and consumer requirements effectively.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site in Cardiff 2 days per week.
• Strong experience designing and building cost-optimized cloud platforms, preferably using Azure.
• Deep expertise in operating containers at scale within the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including observability, performance tuning, and incident management.
• Proficiency in the software development lifecycle, including testing, version control, and branching strategies.
• Experience building internal APIs or CLIs to deliver self-service solutions for engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience rolling out Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and managing error budgets.
• Background in both large and small agile engineering environments.
• Proactive approach to identifying and solving complex architectural challenges.
