What you will do

  • Lead and mentor a team of 2–6 engineers through product development.
  • Set technical direction and align priorities with product and discipline leads across time zones.
  • Design and implement large-scale automation and build tooling across distributed servers.
  • Own architecture requirements, technical design, hands-on implementation, and engineering standards.
  • Coach engineers, support career development, participate in hiring, and grow team capabilities.
  • Plan and deliver content creation, stability, and testing systems, including troubleshooting live-service issues during an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including shipping games or products on large, multi-platform codebases.
  • 2+ years of direct experience managing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in C and C++, strong debugging skills, and knowledge of common game and software design patterns.
  • Experience developing real-time online multiplayer games with Unreal Engine or a similar engine.
  • Experience with automation tooling, performance tooling, build pipelines, or telemetry.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and time zones with strong product judgment and player empathy.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with MMO or large-scale online games, game server architecture, and automation.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine Blueprint visual scripting and Iris.
  • Experience with mid-sized engineering teams, agile development, and global-scale online services.
