What you will do

• Lead the Domain Engineering squad, enabling other Product Engineering squads by removing architectural dependencies.
• Shape the future architecture by deconstructing the monolith and defining domain boundaries.
• Balance technical leadership with hands-on contributions to the code and architecture.
• Solve complex problems related to scaling and ensuring technology grows as fast as the business.
• Grow and nurture talent within the team, focusing on personal growth and career development.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to develop technical roadmaps that ensure long-term system health and stability.

Requirements

• An empathetic leader who loves delivering through others and is comfortable being hands-on when necessary.
• A deep understanding of software architecture and design principles, specifically regarding the decoupling of large monoliths and defining clear domain boundaries.
• Experience in software development combined with people management, allowing you to guide the technical direction of a squad of highly senior engineers.
• Experience in an engineering environment of significant scale, understanding the challenges of enabling multiple squads to deploy independently and ensuring system stability.
• Positive and optimistic attitude.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails monoliths at scale and leading efforts to migrate architectural approaches towards scalable, distributed systems.
• Demonstrable domain driven design experience.
• Successfully guided architectural shifts within a scaling business.
