System Engineer

What you will do

• Provide systems engineering and architecture services to support the FBI’s IT infrastructure.
• Design and document complex virtual and physical architectures, maintaining up-to-date system diagrams and technical documentation.
• Perform growth analysis to predict future infrastructure needs and prevent performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure a high-availability environment with a system uptime of 99.9% for critical mission services.
• Provide Tier 4 technical support for complex system outages and performance issues.
• Manage system sustainment activities, including backups and database archiving.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or IT architecture.
• Expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols, and network virtualization.
• Proven experience with system sustainment operations, including backups, database archives, and disaster recovery.
• Experience performing growth analysis and architectural planning for enterprise-scale IT environments.

Nice to have

• Current SAFe Agilist (SA) certification.
• Experience using Splunk for system health monitoring, dashboard creation, and log analysis.
• Hands-on experience with BigFix for endpoint management and software deployment.
• Familiarity with the Technical Change Control Board (TCCB) processes and configuration management.
• Experience with advanced network virtualization and software-defined networking.
