Systems Engineer (Journeyman)

TL;DR

Systems Engineer (Journeyman): Engineering, operating, and maintaining secure, high-availability networks and systems for federal law enforcement operations with an accent on virtualization, system interoperability, and infrastructure maintenance. Focus on managing Windows and Linux environments, deploying security patches, and ensuring system reliability within a dynamic PMO.

Location: Must be based in Quantico, VA (On-site)

What you will do

• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems and applications.
• Engineer, install, and maintain server hardware and software environments.
• Deploy monthly Microsoft updates and third-party patches to mitigate security risks.
• Monitor health and performance of enterprise devices and manage backup/recovery procedures.
• Support physical, virtual, and hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Respond to and investigate cybersecurity incidents in coordination with the security team.

Requirements

• Must have active Top Secret clearance to start.
• Experience with Windows Server and SQL Server installation and configuration.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server software.
• Ability to create and maintain network and system infrastructure diagrams.
• Strong documentation skills for inventory, patch levels, and system configurations.
