What you will do

• Lead the Systems Engineering Platform Team focused on AWS infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security.
• Define and maintain service-level objectives (SLOs) and error budgets for production systems.
• Oversee incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement processes.
• Drive automation and tooling to reduce manual toil across AWS environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability standards for production and pre-production environments.
• Collaborate with Development, Security, and Product teams to align infrastructure initiatives with strategic goals.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United Kingdom with ability to collaborate occasionally in London.
• Proven experience leading platform, SRE, or systems engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of AWS architecture, services, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Experience defining and tracking SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and Kubernetes.
• Strong software development skills in Python, Go, Ruby, or Bash.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multi-region AWS environments at scale.
• Familiarity with service ownership models and on-call rotation practices.
• Experience with cost optimization and FinOps principles.
• Experience implementing runbooks, automation frameworks, and self-healing systems.
