Engineering Lead (Fintech): Leading and mentoring engineering teams in the Payments Services Platform, responsible for UK electronic payments, including Faster Payments, BACS, and International Payments with an accent on collaboration with industry groups and regulators, as well as ensuring secure and compliant operations. Focus on delivering high-quality software, coaching team members, and investing in security capabilities within cloud-based technologies.

Location: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in Edinburgh

Salary: £92,701 - £109,000

Requirements

• Experience across the Payments domain, industry, and technology ecosystem.
• Ability to develop new testing approaches and strategies for a defined range of products and operations.
• Experience providing software engineering oversight, technical, and people leadership across multiple teams.
• Experience in implementing formal development frameworks for a substantial department, while informally coaching and mentoring others throughout the organisation and investing in own personal development.
• Experience inspiring delivery whilst encouraging simplicity and developing confidence & trust.
• Ability to address risks across our current service through investing in our assets and security capabilities.
• Experience in delivering Cloud based technologies.

Nice to have

• Strong working knowledge of Payments Systems such as Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS and International, and/or Payment Reconciliations or Accounting Services.
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture.
