TL;DR

Senior Commercial Counsel (SaaS): Leading legal strategy for complex commercial transactions and scaling contracting processes with an accent on enterprise SaaS agreements and cross-functional business partnership. Focus on mitigating legal risk, structuring high-value channel partnerships, and building efficient, scalable legal frameworks for a fast-growing tech organization.

Location: Hybrid (must be onsite 3 days per week at San Mateo, CA headquarters)

Salary: $161,000 – $200,000 USD (plus bonus/equity)

What you will do

  • Negotiate complex enterprise SaaS agreements and high-value strategic deals.
  • Structure and manage channel, reseller, and marketplace partnership frameworks.
  • Advise cross-functional leadership on risk tradeoffs and deal strategy for commercial transactions.
  • Build and refine scalable contracting processes, templates, and negotiation playbooks.
  • Provide practical guidance on intellectual property, data privacy, and security considerations.
  • Collaborate with global legal teams to align on commercial standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active license (or eligibility) to practice in California.
  • 8+ years of experience as a transactional attorney.
  • Deep background in SaaS or technology transactions, either in-house or at a leading law firm.
  • Proven ability to translate complex legal risk into clear business guidance.
  • Familiarity with vendor agreements, DPAs, and services agreements.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
