Associate General Counsel (Space & Defense)

TL;DR

Associate General Counsel (Space & Defense): Providing full legal support to the Space & Defense Group with an accent on developing business and legal strategies and mitigating legal and commercial risks. Focus on strategic legal counsel across space and defense portfolios, including U.S. Government programs and commercial programs.

Location: Hybrid - Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite

Salary: $200,000.00–$230,000.00 Annually

What you will do

• Provide comprehensive legal support and advice on compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Develop and implement business and legal strategies in collaboration with leadership.
• Negotiate agreements with external parties and lead legal strategy for major agreements.
• Support the Legal Department in implementing new programs and initiatives across the organization.
• Mitigate and eliminate risks with substantial monetary implications.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with over five (5) years in a senior in-house role with a large corporation or at a large law firm.
• Experience in complex business and contract negotiation, including IP agreements.
• Experience in U.S. government contracting and procurement processes.
• Must meet facility and program access requirements, including U.S. Person status, and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance if required by program needs.
• Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite.
