Information Governance Intern

TL;DR

Information Governance Intern (Information Management): Supporting the governance team in records management, privacy assessments, and eDiscovery with an accent on data risk remediation and compliance standards. Focus on analyzing data inventories, developing training materials, and assisting in system migration governance.

Location: Must be based in Belfast and able to work from the office 3 days per week

What you will do

• Assist in evaluating data management capabilities and conducting compliance assessments for new initiatives and system migrations.
• Document and address data management risks by providing actionable remediation solutions.
• Support the team with data analysis, updating processing records, and maintaining record inventories.
• Contribute to projects focused on enhancing information security and governance.
• Develop organizational awareness and training materials regarding information management policies.
• Perform quality assurance activities on business processes related to information governance.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Law, Business, or a related field with a placement year in 2026-7.
• Local to Belfast to fulfill the 3-day weekly office attendance requirement.
• Demonstrated ability to perform research, compile findings, and structure data effectively.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office suites.
• Critical thinking skills and the initiative to work with limited direction.
