Senior DevOps Engineer

What you will do

• Design, deploy, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of hybrid and multicloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Operate and optimize Apache Kafka clusters, including Mirror/MirrorMaker configurations for replication and resilience.
• Implement observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, and Elastic.
• Promote DevOps/GitOps practices with automation tools like Ansible and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
• Manage security, authentication, and authorization processes including certificates, encryption keys, RBAC, and LDAP/IDM integration.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Rome, Italy for onsite work.
• 3–6 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and platform delivery.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift in production.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka distributed architecture, replication, and high availability.
• Expertise in DevOps, automation, and scripting (Bash, Python, Go, YAML).
• Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and platform engineering principles.
• Experience with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, Elastic).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with IBM Power systems in containerized environments.
• Experience with virtualization and hyperconverged platforms such as OpenShift Virtualization, Nutanix, VMware, KVM.
• Preferred certifications: Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (RHCSA/RHCA), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
