TL;DR
Senior Platform Engineer (Backend): Building and optimizing standardized platform services and reusable APIs for 1000+ backend engineers with an accent on scalability, reliability, and DevOps automation. Focus on designing Life Cycle Management systems, improving observability, and scaling engineering standards across the organization.
Location: Hybrid in Utrecht; Must be located in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work there
Salary: €4,931 - €7,043 per month

What you will do
- Design and build a Life Cycle Management system to deliver standardized modules at scale.
- Own the full DevOps lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, deployments, and monitoring.
- Implement resiliency patterns like partitioning, caching, and idempotency for high performance.
- Enhance observability using Splunk, SignalFx, Dynatrace, and PagerDuty.
- Champion security standards using SAST tools like Checkmarx, PMD, and SonarQube.
- Mentor other engineers and collaborate with architects to refine technical specifications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building platform services, preferably using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot.
- Strong DevOps mindset with expertise in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing.
- Ability to think architecturally and challenge the status quo constructively.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Must be based in the Netherlands with valid work authorization
Nice to have
- Experience with GoLang.
- Knowledge of containerization and Cloud Foundry patterns.
- Azure Entra ID and Azure DevOps experience at scale.
- Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate automation.
